Et si des r\u00e9parations et des modifications simples peuvent \u00eatre effectu\u00e9es \u00e0 moindre co\u00fbt, des projets d\u2019entretien de tour de refroidissement plus importants n\u00e9cessitent une planification et une justification \u00e9conomique appropri\u00e9es. La temp\u00e9rature de l&#039;eau entrante d\u00e9pendait de facteurs environnementaux et n&#039;\u00e9tait pas contr\u00f4lable, ce qui laissait les op\u00e9rateurs de l&#039;usine enti\u00e8rement \u00e0 la merci des conditions de temp\u00e9rature ambiante.<\/p>\n<p>Des ann\u00e9es d&#039;exp\u00e9rience ont conduit de nombreux exploitants \u00e0 penser qu&#039;il \u00e9tait impossible de modifier la temp\u00e9rature de l&#039;eau entrante. Mais les innovations technologiques actuelles en mati\u00e8re de refroidissement permettent souvent de fournir une eau nettement plus froide avec le m\u00eame encombrement du bassin et une hauteur de pompage encore plus faible.<\/p>\n<p>Toutefois, avant de proc\u00e9der \u00e0 la mise \u00e0 niveau, il convient de proc\u00e9der \u00e0 une analyse \u00e9conomique approfondie et de justifier les r\u00e9parations et les mises \u00e0 niveau propos\u00e9es pour la tour de refroidissement. Une analyse \u00e9conomique appropri\u00e9e comporte quatre \u00e9tapes :<\/p>\n<h3>1. \u00c9valuer les performances thermiques de la tour existante par rapport aux performances thermiques de conception.<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9812 aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/CTU_WP_181-52.jpg\" alt=\"Figure 1. A cooling tower specialist should compare the current tower performance to its original design performance.\" width=\"450\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spxcooling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CTU_WP_181-52.jpg 450w, https:\/\/spxcooling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CTU_WP_181-52-300x205.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bien qu&#039;une inspection et une \u00e9valuation par un sp\u00e9cialiste local des tours de refroidissement constituent l&#039;un des meilleurs moyens d&#039;identifier les causes possibles du d\u00e9ficit de performance, la tendance des performances d&#039;une tour peut \u00eatre \u00e9valu\u00e9e \u00e0 l&#039;aide des donn\u00e9es de processus g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement disponibles. Les performances de la tour de refroidissement sont d\u00e9montr\u00e9es en tra\u00e7ant la temp\u00e9rature de l&#039;eau froide de sortie par rapport \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature du bulbe humide d&#039;entr\u00e9e \u00e0 une vitesse de ventilateur, un d\u00e9bit d&#039;eau et une charge thermique constants. La n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d&#039;un test de performance formel est d\u00e9termin\u00e9e en fonction de plusieurs facteurs. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, moins les donn\u00e9es de temp\u00e9rature et de d\u00e9bit disponibles \u00e0 partir de l&#039;instrumentation install\u00e9e sont nombreuses, plus un test de performance formel sera probablement n\u00e9cessaire, quel que soit l&#039;\u00e2ge de la tour.<\/p>\n<p>Chaque tour de refroidissement est con\u00e7ue pour fournir une temp\u00e9rature de sortie sp\u00e9cifique (80-95\u00b0F) \u00e0 une combinaison de temp\u00e9rature de bulbe humide, de charge thermique, de d\u00e9bit d&#039;eau et de d\u00e9bit d&#039;air. Dans le cas contraire, les performances thermiques de la tour peuvent ne pas \u00eatre ad\u00e9quates.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame les tours neuves ne sont pas susceptibles de fonctionner aux niveaux pr\u00e9vus. Selon le Cooling Technology Institute (CTI), environ la moiti\u00e9 des tours de refroidissement nouvellement construites ont r\u00e9ussi leur test de performance initial en 2014. Bien que le CTI commence seulement \u00e0 publier des statistiques de test pour les diff\u00e9rents fabricants dans le cadre du programme CTI STD-202, chaque entreprise conna\u00eet son propre taux de r\u00e9ussite\/\u00e9chec et divulguera ces informations si elle le demande. \u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que le taux d&#039;\u00e9chec des nouvelles tours est \u00e9lev\u00e9, il est conseill\u00e9 de toujours insister sur un test de performance de la tour lors de l&#039;achat d&#039;un nouvel \u00e9quipement.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Pour cette analyse, le processus qui re\u00e7oit l&#039;eau froide de la tour doit \u00eatre \u00e9valu\u00e9 et mod\u00e9lis\u00e9. La deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tape du processus d&#039;\u00e9valuation consiste \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer si l&#039;eau plus froide aura un impact \u00e9conomique pr\u00e9visible et mesurable sur les performances de l&#039;usine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Il est souvent possible de d\u00e9terminer l\u2019ordre de grandeur de l\u2019impact en se demandant \u00ab existe-t-il une diff\u00e9rence de capacit\u00e9 ou de co\u00fbt d\u2019exploitation de l\u2019usine en \u00e9t\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019hiver ? \u00bb Si la r\u00e9ponse est oui, alors certains processus sensibles \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature sont probablement affect\u00e9s par la temp\u00e9rature de l\u2019eau froide.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Une analyse de r\u00e9gression simple des donn\u00e9es d&#039;exploitation peut \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9e pour g\u00e9n\u00e9rer une fonction math\u00e9matique qui exprime le co\u00fbt d&#039;exploitation ou la production en termes de temp\u00e9rature de l&#039;eau froide. Dans de nombreuses usines, cette analyse a d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e. Le d\u00e9fi technique consiste \u00e0 utiliser ces connaissances pour d\u00e9couvrir des moyens d&#039;am\u00e9liorer la rentabilit\u00e9 de l&#039;usine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cette analyse est souvent compliqu\u00e9e, par exemple lorsque plusieurs processus s&#039;appuient sur une boucle de refroidissement commune. Dans ce cas, \u00e9valuez d&#039;abord le processus le plus critique ou le plus sensible \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature. La meilleure solution peut \u00eatre de diviser la boucle de refroidissement et de fournir l&#039;eau la plus froide \u00e0 la partie de l&#039;usine o\u00f9 elle est la plus pr\u00e9cieuse.<\/p>\n<p>Pour chaque processus d\u00e9pendant de la temp\u00e9rature, une courbe de performance par rapport \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature de l&#039;eau froide doit \u00eatre g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e. La performance peut \u00eatre exprim\u00e9e en termes de rendement du produit, de consommation d&#039;\u00e9nergie ou de tout autre indicateur de performance cl\u00e9 pertinent pour le processus particulier. En fonction de l&#039;\u00e9cart de co\u00fbt, une courbe distincte est produite pour l&#039;impact \u00e9conomique par rapport aux performances du syst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<h3>3. \u00c9valuez plusieurs sc\u00e9narios de r\u00e9paration et de mise \u00e0 niveau pour d\u00e9velopper une solution optimis\u00e9e.<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9810\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/ectp3_copy.jpg\" alt=\"Figure 4. Comparing operating curves allows for selection and evaluation of multiple new tower options.\" width=\"975\" height=\"1209\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/ectp3_copy.jpg 975w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/ectp3_copy-480x595.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 975px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Une fois la relation entre l\u2019impact \u00e9conomique et la performance du syst\u00e8me \u00e9tablie, l\u2019\u00e9tape suivante consiste \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer ce qui peut \u00eatre fait pour am\u00e9liorer la performance du syst\u00e8me, et dans quelle mesure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Outre les courbes g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es lors des deux premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes (performances thermiques existantes, impacts sur les proc\u00e9d\u00e9s et impacts \u00e9conomiques), il convient d\u2019ajouter les variations climatiques annuelles pour \u00e9laborer un mod\u00e8le comparatif qui pr\u00e9dit l\u2019impact financier et le retour sur investissement de divers projets de modernisation des tours de refroidissement. La premi\u00e8re comparaison s\u2019effectue g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement entre la courbe de performance \u00ab en l\u2019\u00e9tat \u00bb et la courbe de performance de conception d\u2019origine, ce qui permet de quantifier l\u2019impact financier de la d\u00e9gradation des performances.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dans certains cas, une simple \u00e9valuation bas\u00e9e sur la somme annuelle de chaque temp\u00e9rature du thermom\u00e8tre mouill\u00e9 peut suffire. Ces donn\u00e9es sont disponibles aupr\u00e8s de centaines de centres de collecte de donn\u00e9es m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques des Centres nationaux d&#039;information sur l&#039;environnement, de la National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncdc.noaa.gov.\">www.ncdc.noaa.gov.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Si l&#039;installation fabrique un produit sensible aux fluctuations saisonni\u00e8res des prix, il est plus appropri\u00e9 d&#039;ex\u00e9cuter des mod\u00e8les de performance saisonniers. Dans les cas o\u00f9 la temp\u00e9rature de l&#039;eau froide affecte la consommation d&#039;\u00e9nergie ou la production d&#039;une centrale, il peut \u00eatre appropri\u00e9 d&#039;\u00e9valuer les variations de temp\u00e9rature entre la nuit et le jour. Il existe des logiciels de donn\u00e9es m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques qui fournissent des statistiques de temp\u00e9rature observ\u00e9es par incr\u00e9ments de trois heures, ce qui rend ce niveau d&#039;analyse possible.<\/p>\n<p>En combinant la courbe de performance de la tour, la courbe de performance du processus, la courbe d\u2019impact \u00e9conomique et les courbes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques annuelles, la valeur \u00e9conomique de la restauration de la tour \u00e0 son \u00e9tat de conception d\u2019origine peut \u00eatre pr\u00e9dite.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ensuite, les options techniques pour la restauration de la tour (remplacement du mat\u00e9riau de remplissage, r\u00e9novation du syst\u00e8me de distribution d\u2019eau, modernisation des composants m\u00e9caniques) doivent \u00eatre identifi\u00e9es et analys\u00e9es par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019impact d\u2019un remplacement complet du syst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<h3>4. R\u00e9aliser une analyse d\u2019optimisation financi\u00e8re des solutions propos\u00e9es.<\/h3>\n<p>Traditionnellement, la s\u00e9lection d\u2019une tour de refroidissement \u00ab optimis\u00e9e \u00bb se limitait \u00e0 \u00e9quilibrer le co\u00fbt initial et le co\u00fbt d\u2019exploitation, en fonction du fonctionnement continu au point de conception. Ce mod\u00e8le ne prend cependant pas en compte l\u2019impact sur les op\u00e9rations de traitement, ni les op\u00e9rations au-dessus ou en dessous des conditions de conception. Un mod\u00e8le int\u00e9gr\u00e9 qui calcule et classe plusieurs it\u00e9rations tout en prenant en compte l\u2019ensemble des conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques et d\u2019exploitation est le meilleur moyen d\u2019optimiser correctement la s\u00e9lection d\u2019une tour de remplacement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>L&#039;\u00e9quation de valeur globale pour comparer les installations de tours de refroidissement doit g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement inclure :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Co\u00fbts d&#039;investissement pour l&#039;\u00e9quipement et l&#039;installation<\/li>\n<li>Co\u00fbts d&#039;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 pour le fonctionnement du ventilateur et de la pompe<\/li>\n<li>Co\u00fbts de traitement de l&#039;eau<\/li>\n<li>Co\u00fbts de maintenance (particuli\u00e8rement importants pour comparer l\u2019achat d\u2019une nouvelle tour \u00e0 une r\u00e9paration\/reconstruction)<\/li>\n<li>R\u00e9duction des co\u00fbts d&#039;exploitation gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures de fonctionnement plus basses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape de cette optimisation consiste \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer la mesure financi\u00e8re \u00e0 optimiser. Cela n\u00e9cessite que les ing\u00e9nieurs et le personnel de l&#039;usine qui recommandent les achats et les mises \u00e0 niveau d&#039;\u00e9quipements comprennent les crit\u00e8res d&#039;\u00e9valuation de l&#039;entreprise pour classer et approuver les projets d&#039;investissement afin de pr\u00e9senter une solution correctement optimis\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Une m\u00e9thode d&#039;\u00e9valuation des projets consiste \u00e0 d\u00e9finir une exigence bas\u00e9e sur le retour sur investissement simple. Il est donc essentiel de prendre en compte la mesure financi\u00e8re appropri\u00e9e lors de l\u2019optimisation d\u2019un syst\u00e8me. En fin de compte, la \u00ab meilleure \u00bb solution sera d\u00e9termin\u00e9e principalement par les r\u00e9sultats financiers souhait\u00e9s : un retour sur investissement rapide ou une valeur maximale \u00e0 long terme.<\/p>\n<p>En raison de l\u2019interaction \u00e9troite entre la temp\u00e9rature de l\u2019eau froide et les performances du processus, il est essentiel que les mises \u00e0 niveau et les r\u00e9parations des tours de refroidissement soient planifi\u00e9es et \u00e9valu\u00e9es avec une compr\u00e9hension approfondie de la conception de la tour de refroidissement, des op\u00e9rations de processus et des mesures financi\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019ing\u00e9nierie est avant tout un exercice \u00e9conomique bas\u00e9 sur la science. Or, si la science de l\u2019exploitation des tours de refroidissement est tr\u00e8s simple, l\u2019analyse \u00e9conomique requiert une discipline rigoureuse pour garantir que les investissements et les d\u00e9penses de maintenance g\u00e9n\u00e8rent les rendements souhait\u00e9s. De nombreux projets d\u2019am\u00e9lioration des tours de refroidissement pr\u00e9sentent des avantages financiers importants qui peuvent \u00eatre r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9s par une analyse \u00e9conomique appropri\u00e9e. De plus, le report de certaines r\u00e9parations et mises \u00e0 niveau peut co\u00fbter des millions de dollars aux usines en perte de productivit\u00e9 et en co\u00fbts d\u2019exploitation
